Counselling & Psychotherapy
Therapy can support you to cope with life again, one step at a time. In a caring, safe, confidential space, I meet you, as you are. Together, we will explore what's going on in your life - what's working and what's challenging.
Therapy provides a safe psychological and physical space which can be a refuge from your present challenges. It provides an opportunity for you to turn inwards, to find yourself in your own life.
By having someone to talk to, you may discover greater courage to deal with life's many challenges. Over time, you may begin to make sense of your feelings, feel clearer and calmer, reveal your own resourcefulness and identify possibilities for change and recovery.
I work both online and in-person for 1 hour long appointments. Appointments are booked one at a time. I am happy to offer a free 15-minute introduction phone call to help you learn more about working together.
The first small step of making an appointment may be the first step towards feeling better in yourself.
Why Therapy?
Most people experience emotional pain at some time in their lives. We all have times when it's harder to cope with life. Or we may feel overwhelmed by grief, sadness, anxiety or anger. Some things may seem too personal to share with family or friends, it can be hard to know how to deal with it or who to turn to. Therapy can support you to cope with life again, one step at a time.
About Me

Areas Of Work
I work with people from all backgrounds and life experiences with widely ranging issues such as:
Codependency - Anxiety - Anger - Parenting - Family Conflict - Low Self Esteem - Life Crisis - Loneliness - Indecision - Sexual Issues - PTSD - Bereavement - Intimacy issues - Relationship Issues - Stress - Trauma - Women's Issues - Panic Attacks - Low Confidence.
My Approach
I work as a Person-Centered, Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist. I am trained and influenced by many theoretical disciplines particularly Person-Centered, Gestalt and Somatic approaches. I use different modalities depending on the clients presentation and requirements. I prioritise keeping my clients safe, stable, and emotionally regulated before deeper psychotherapeutic processing work.
Couples Work
I have many years experience working with intimacy and relationship issues. Together with my husband Peter Thompson, we work as a couple with couples, by mentoring them through the ICASA 10-Step Sexual Recovery Programme. We support couples to overcome sexual dysfunction, trauma and anxiety towards greater intimacy and connection. More information.
